Brewery "Uerige"

Berger Straße 1, 40213 Düsseldorf

A change of ownership becomes the talk of the town: As in 1976 Christa and Josef Schnitzler took over Uerige which was founded in 1862, the new highlight in the traditional brewery became the talk of the town in Düsseldorf.

After all, the certified master brewer Schnitzler had hitherto been crown prince of the “Schumacher” brewery. Today their son Michael leads the business, and does so transparently: During a guided tour of the “Gläserne Brauerei” (Glass brewery) you have the opportunity to see all the essential brewing processes in the main building on Berger Strasse. And whoever wants to have a shot after an Altbier: Brandy and single malt are also produced at Uerige.
