Six places for Claudia Schiffer fans

Fashion photography exhibition, shopping and cafes

Oh. My. God. Is it really her?! She may not be coming herself. But Cloodia, as Karl Lagerfeld affectionately christened his longtime muse, is back with a remarkable exhibition in the place where it all began for her. Born in Rheinberg, Germany, Cloodia's modeling career began in 1987 at Düsseldorf's Checker's, a legendary club on Königsallee. The fashion photography exhibition she curated at the Düsseldorf Kunstpalast runs until January 9, 2022. We show you six places with a high cult factor that are very Cloodia.

Art Palace

Claudia Schiffer's first curated fashion photography exhibition takes place at the Kunstpalast im Ehrenhof. "Captivate!" is the name of the show - a journey back in time to the 1990s on which Schiffer takes us. Back to an era when the so-called supermodels were captured for eternity by photography legends. The pictures by Ellen von Unwerth, Richard Avedon or Peter Lindbergh made Claudia, Linda, Christy, Naomi and Helena icons.

Hotel Breidenbacher Hof

There are many luxury hotels in Düsseldorf that would be tailor-made for all supermodels. One convenient option would be the Presidential Suite at the Hotel Breidenbacher Hof. From there, you can be at the Hofgarten and the Kunstpalast in no time. And those traveling with family or planning a particularly extensive shopping trip would have enough space for everything.

Bazzar Caffè

Bazzar Caffè is an institution - and is located just around the corner from Breidenbacher Hof in the imposing and listed Wilhelm Marx House. Here, Claudia Schiffer fans could immerse themselves in the era that is the theme of her exhibition: Bazaar Caffè was already a cult shortly after it opened in the mid-1990s. Since then, the "missionaries of espressionism," as the coffee enthusiasts call themselves with a wink, have further deepened their passion for exquisite roasted coffees and offer some of the best you can get out of brewed beans.

Jades

From Bazaar Caffè it is again only three steps to Jades. The Jades fashion cosmos is considered the address with the highest celebrity density in the city. In addition to celebrities such as Justin Timberlake, Victoria Beckham and Georgia May Jagger, national football players, film and TV celebrities and influencers have also been spotted in the hallowed halls - or even supermodels! They browse through the collections of Off-White c/o Virgil Abloh, Kenzo, Iro, Lala Berlin or Amiri. The selection at Jades is wide, ranging from casual to luxurious - but there's always a bit of glam involved. Very Cloodia!

Lido in the paint box

If you want to go out after shopping on Königsallee or in the boutiques of the old town, Düsseldorf has the perfect restaurant for you. The Lido im Malkasten, located in the building of the Düsseldorf artists' association of the same name, is known for its interior. It was designed by the important artist Rosemarie Trockel - so if you have an affinity for art, you'll be eating in the best company. The menu includes specialties such as goat cheese pralines, cucumber cannelloni or braised artichoke hearts.

Laura's Deli

What does a model eat for lunch? Something light and healthy! If you prefer vegetable-based food, Laura is the right address. Laura Isenhöfer, the owner of Laura's Deli at Carlsplatz, comes from the fashion biz herself and was living the daily life of a busy woman when she decided to radically change her diet. Since then, wheat, gluten, cow's milk and industrial sugar have no longer been part of her diet - but today she has more energy to put all her ambitious gastronomic plans into practice.
