Six tips for cocktails to go

Our favorites for delicious drinks

Some of you may have gin or rum in your home bar. But who can mix a deliciously tangy Mai Tai, let alone an authentic Long Island Iced Tea? Luckily, we have excellent bars in Düsseldorf that also offer or even deliver their drinks to go at Lockdown.

Grand Pu Bar

You can't enjoy the cool atmosphere of the Grand Pu Bar at the moment, but you can enjoy the unusual and partly award-winning creations of bartender Daniel Kroschinsky. His recipe for delicious drinks: homemade ingredients, including his own roasted coffee. If you order here, the flavor explosions are delivered to your door in milk bottles.

Bar Ellington

At Bar Ellington, Robert Potthoff mixes cocktails without chichi and colorful umbrellas, but with excellent taste. The Falstaff Bar Guide gave him 47 out of 50 points this year. If you wish, you can pick up the drinks including nut mix and ice.

Kassette

As long as the Lockdown is running, the cassette offers a cocktail delivery service. The drinks are freshly mixed in the bar, bottled to measure and delivered to the customer within a radius of about five kilometers. So that the pleasure is also perfect for the eye, you get the decoration such as caramelized nuts, basil or dried fruit along with explanation.

Squarebar

In the Squarebar, old jam jars pile up with such exotic ingredients as pointed morels in cognac or seaweed in aquavit. Is owner David Rippen a wizard? No, he's a modern bartender who draws on the beginnings of bar culture. Depending on the season, Daniel combines vegetables, fruits or herbs with alcohol to create delicacies like the beet tequila or a cocktail called "Tu ma' lieber die Möhrchen." Curious? From Thursday to Sunday, the drinks are available as take-away.

Boothbyʼs Bar

Boothbyʼs Bar sees itself as a classic bar with a cozy living room atmosphere. Since you cannot visit this living room at the moment, the drinks come to your home. In the form of a cocktail or gin and tonic advent calendar.

Sassafras

Sassafras, located in Oberkassel, has also switched to out-of-home sales. Here, bottled drinks such as the London Mule or the Sassafari, made from rum, triple sec, passion fruit and lime, are available. To keep warm, homemade mulled wine and Early Christmas Punch are available for pickup Wednesday through Saturday.
