Six tips for gourmet take-away

You miss the candlelight dinner in your favorite fine dining restaurant or want to be pampered by the arts of a star chef again? That's no problem in the Lockdown, either, because many top-class restaurateurs offer take-away for gourmets.
Here are our six favorites for fine food and drinks at home.

Fritz's wife Franzi

Since November 2017, Benjamin Kriegel's "world cuisine with an experimental touch" has been awarded one star by the Michelin Guide. And you can also enjoy it at Lockdown. At the weekend, there is a 3-course menu that you can prepare on your dining table at home in just a few steps. From Tuesdays to Saturdays, snacks and a changing hot dish for the lunch break are available for pick-up.

Setting box

Star cuisine in the supermarket? The Setzkasten restaurant at Zurheide Feine Kost has done it: since the spring of 2020, it has been able to adorn itself with a Michelin star. A creative and courageous kitchen concept by Anton Pahl and the trend toward "casual fine dining" have made it possible. During the lockdown, the "Setzkasten-Genuss" with ten small dishes for two people is available in the star enjoyment box to take home.

Dr. Kosch

Due to the pandemic, Dr. Kosch is now back on a house call. In the gourmet cab, he delivers delicious creations such as umami bolognese from red cattle on wasabi salad or Oosterschelde sole with winter spinach and salty lemon to gourmets in Düsseldorf. After working at "Portalis" in Berlin and "Victorian" in Düsseldorf, star chef Volker Drkosch has now found his culinary home at Gastrobar Dr. Kosch.

GCS Catering

GCS caterer Georg Heimanns usually spoils the palates of Tonhallen visitors or the networkers of the Ständehaustreff. Now he wants to put a smile - or even better: a big grin - on the faces of gourmet friends. Via the website the-big-grin, he sells orange boxes called Delicate, Goose or Veggie, which contain a three-course menu for two people - ready-cut, ready-seasoned. Just a few more steps and the meal is ready to serve.

Kö59

Lockdown light and still hungry? The team at Kö59, the restaurant in the Hotel Intercontinental, continues to prepare its delicate combination of Rhenish cuisine with international flair. Currently, pick-up customers can choose between seasonal delights such as Königsberger Klopsen "Björn Freitag Style," roast herring from Loup de mer or ragout of Grafenberg venison.

Carlsplatz

Whether it's healthy food for every day or something unusual for a special occasion - there's (almost) nothing you can't find at Carlsplatz. Exotic fruit, regional vegetables, freshly caught fish as well as meat and poultry from (regional) experts, baked goods, cheese, international delicacies, coffee specialties, wine as well as a magnificent selection of flowers and plants. And there is CARL, the delivery service that delivers the goods to your door.
