In Düsseldorf's Old Town, where life pulsates and "the longest bar in the world" stands, one of the most famous German poets was born: Heinrich Heine.

Heine's birthplace is located in the eye of the hurricane, so to speak, on Bolker Straße. There, Dr. Selinde Böhm and her husband Robert Müller have been running the Düsseldorf Literature House and a bookstore for several years.

World stars of the literary scene, such as Nobel Prize winner Herta Müller or Cees Nooteboom, are on friendly terms with this Düsseldorf house of literature and read here regularly.

The bookstore "Müller & Böhm" has been awarded the prize "Bookstore of the Year" several times. Literature lovers from home and abroad make a pilgrimage here.

In a conversation for the new podcast episode of "Alle Rhein," Dr. Selinde Böhm tells us how this special art and literature venue came to be in the middle of Düsseldorf's - usually noisy - old town, why she believes the Heine Haus has a special "spirit," and why she continues to believe in the power of literature and thinks Düsseldorf is a special city.
