3D tour

In the footsteps of Charlie Chaplin, Alfred Hitchcock and Marilyn Monroe

Original film sets, real costumes and the secrets behind cinematic special effects. The Düsseldorf Film Museum shows what goes on behind the scenes of TV and cinema films. The 3D tour takes you on a journey of exploration

A visit to the Film Museum, located in the historic Carlstadt district, is like a journey through film history. The permanent exhibition, spread over four floors, shows the first "light shows" with dioramas and peepshows, a model of the world's largest silent movie theater, and a film set from 1880. From the 20th century, there are scripts and sketches for film buildings, costumes and trophies of famous actors, and records of famous directors such as Alfred Hitchcock or Federico Fellini. In the reconstructed film studio, you can feel like a Hollywood star yourself between spotlights, cameras and wind machines. And those who simply want to become invisible have the opportunity to do so in the Blue Box.
