Description
Open Air Food-Event

The 7th Gourmet Festival Düsseldorf which takes place from 25–27 August will extend along the Kö-Graben as a two-kilometre boulevard for food-loving flaneurs. The 200 stalls cover a broad spectrum catering equally well to gourmets, barbecue fans and food truck aficionados as well as cocktail lovers and those who appreciate good wine.

The exhibitors include, for instance, the Trüffelmanufaktur from Offingen in Swabia, a business that purveys fine foods containing truffles ranging from butter and cheese to honey, sauces and oil.

Under the motto of “Wurst live” the Düsseldorf master butcher Peter Inhoven will be demonstrating the craftsmanship it takes to produce his hugely popular sausage creations such as the “Shanghai Tiger” the “Transylvanian” or the “Italian” (salsiccia style).

One company, Kamrose, will be travelling all the way from Sweden to take part. Visitors will be able to sample elk goulash and blueberry liqueur at its stall. The meat being served up at “Don Carne” is also a little out of the ordinary, with specialities such as wagyu and flank steak, dry aged beef or venison haunch.

Athletes and those keeping an eye on their figures should sample the “Milksop Ice Cream” from Kraft-Pause. Exceptionally protein-rich, it is sweetened with pear sugar which has fewer calories and carbohydrates than refined white sugar.

There will also be wine from Germany and the rest of the world, chjlya organic cocktails, craft beer and coffee from Coffee-Bike.
