Art Association for Rhineland and Westphalia

With its founding date of 1829, it is not only one of the oldest, but with currently over 3000 members it is also one of the largest art associations in Germany.

The Art Association for Rhineland and Westphalia is located on the second floor of the Kunsthalle (Art gallery) at the Grabbeplatz. On its agenda are publicly accessible exhibitions and lecture and discussion events, which include issues of politics and society beyond artistic issues. Since 2013, the group “Young members” also comes together and organises its own series of events with studio visits and lectures.

  • Disabled parking opposite underground car park at Grabbeplatz 5 as well as in underground car park on park deck 1, entrance via Neubrückstraße, headroom 180 cm.
  • Bell at lower end of steps in front of the building on left side. a member of museum staff will assist you.
  • On rear side goods elevator with mobile ramp, with assistance only.
  • Disabled toilet on the second floor, accessible via ramp only (ca. 10% incline). Toilet accessible from one side.
  • Side transfer space to right of toilet: 100 x 130 cm.
