The Rheinbahn operates an extensive network of tram, bus and underground lines in Düsseldorf. With the underground, you can cover the distance between the main station and the old town in just a few minutes. Thanks to the connection to the Rhine-Ruhr Transport Association (VRR), Düsseldorf forms a uniform tariff area with the local transport facilities of the surrounding area and the surcharge-free trains of Deutsche Bahn. This also makes it easy to reach the Düsseldorf Trade Fair Centre without traffic jams. 
In addition, mobil.nrw offers another attractive service for getting around the city (quite spontaneously) by public transport. With eezy.nrw, guests can check in and out at stops by means of geographic positioning on their mobile phones, so that only the actually travelled distance serves as the basis for calculation.

For night owls:

A new long-distance bus station for trans-European bus trips opened in the middle of December 2009. The central bus station with comfortable waiting rooms is located on the Worringer Strasse just next to the main railway station. You can get to Düsseldorf on modern coaches from many European cities.

The fully automated cabin railway SkyTrain links the long-distance railway station “Düsseldorf Flughafen” with the terminal.

Onward travel by rail
The "Düsseldorf Flughafen" railway station is located at one of Europe’s main rail junctions. Around 300 trains – ICE, IC, EC and local trains/light rail – stop here every day.

The S11 will take you directly from the terminal to the Hauptbahnhof in around 12 minutes.
