From Thursday 23 November to Saturday 30 December 2023, Sundays to Thursdays from 11am to 8pm, Fridays and Saturdays from 11am to 9pm. On Christmas Eve (Sunday, 24 December) it will be open from 11am to 3pm and on Boxing Day (Tuesday, 26 December) from 2pm to 8pm.

The Christmas market will be closed on Sunday, 26 November and on Christmas Day (Sunday, 25 December). 

The various Christmas markets with their different themes are all roughly the same size. They are all located in Düsseldorf’s city centre, allowing you to move easily from one market to the next. For the first time, the entire KÖ-Bogen from Ueckernagel to Jan-Wellem-Platz, Joachim-Erwin-Platz and the Ingenhovental will be used for a Christmas market.

There are several Christmas markets in the city centre.
We recommend you travel to the Christmas market by public transport. A good address to use is the Heinrich-Heine-Allee underground train station as it is centrally located.
Visit www.rheinbahn.com for all your travel information. There is a Park & Ride KombiTicket from Düsseldorf Airport. Parking lot P13 is just a four-minute walk from the subway stop “Lohausen”. This also includes the ride on the Rheinbahn to the Christmas market in Düsseldorf's Old Town.
If you are travelling by car, convenient places to park include Tiefgarage am Rheinufer (underground), Parkhaus an der Schadowstraße and Carlsplatz

Travelling by public transport is recommended. Those arriving by car could park in the underground car park on the banks of the Rhine, in the multi-storey car park on Schadowstraße or on Carlsplatz, and there is also a Park & Ride combined ticket with the airport, which allows you to use car park P13 at the airport. This also includes travel on the Rheinbahn to the Christmas market in Düsseldorf city centre. All information can be found here. Please note all these options are parking fee-based.

A free alternative is the Provinzial car park at Hohensandweg 41, which is located directly on the A46 motorway and can be used free of charge on busy days. On Saturdays in December (9, 16 and 23 December), the Provinzial multi-storey car park can be used between 10 am and 10 pm. From there, you can easily reach the Christmas market in the city centre by public transport.

Stores are usually closed on Sundays in Germany, but Düsseldorf’s shops will be open on Sunday, 3 Dezember especially for the Christmas market. On 10 December, the open Sunday will take place in the districts of Benrath, Kaiserswerth, Oberkassel, Eller and Pempelfort.

The Christmas City Map lists all the huts at the various Christmas markets, including location maps. It can be downloaded from our brochure page and will be available free of charge from the weekend of 2 and 3 December at our Tourist Information Office (Rheinstraße 3).

The huts of the Sternchen Market will not be set up this year due to construction work. As in previous years, the huts of the Engel Market will be located on Königsallee.

There will be a Punch and Judy show at Düsseldorf City Hall on three Wednesdays this year. All children are invited to the City Hall on the following days:

Yes, the Rheinbahn provides a luggage bus in which visitors can safely store their purchases during the stroll. The bus will be at Heinrich-Heine-Platz on Saturdays before Christmas from noon until 9.15 pm.

Parking spaces for coaches can be reserved here. If the parking spaces are fully booked, please bear with us while more are released. If you have any urgent questions, please call +49 211 17 202-854.

Fritz-Roeber-Strasse is one place you can drop your passengers off. There is a bus stop next to the parking spaces here where you can stop briefly to let people on and off your coach.

The DEG winter wonderland on Königsallee has an ice rink offering visitors the chance to enjoy ice-skating and curling.
