For many, Düsseldorf is synonymous with the Kö. No other German shopping street is blessed with such charisma. The Königsallee is just as much a golden mile as an international trademark.
The shops of major international luxury brands line up like pearls on a string, alternating exclusive malls with jewellers, perfumeries and street-side cafés. In the middle of the boulevard is the Kö-Graben, a canal of the Düssel, whose embankments invite you to linger in the shade of large chestnut and sycamore trees. For a good night's sleep it is best to find somewhere on the so-called quiet side of the boulevard. There you will find the city's most exclusive luxury hotels: the Steigenberger Parkhotel, the Breidenbacher Hof and the Kö59 Hotel.
