A former tram depot near the Hauptbahnhof (main railway station) is now the backdrop for cultural events. The multi-storey brick building on Erkrather Strasse was refurbished as Düsseldorf’s biggest theatre in 1994.
Where more than a hundred years ago trams rattled around the curve to the depot, there is thunderous applause today. With 1,250 seats in the large hall and around 500 seats in the so-called club, there is enough space for large entertainment shows. Especially musicals, comedy and dance make the cash roll into the Capitol, but concerts do too. Every month for eight years: Thomas Hermann's “Quatsch Comedy Club”.
