Aquazoo Löbbecke Museum
The art museums in Düsseldorf enjoy an international reputation, but the favourite is the Aquazoo Löbbecke Museum in Nordpark. Everything has been happening in, under and over water since 1987.
Description
From stingrays to shrimps, from penguins to sharks, 500 species are gathered there. The theme of evolution is the common thread that leads through the building that was reopened in 2017 after extensive renovation: The tour tells the story of the living creatures from their emergence from the water, the expansion in the sea, the conquest of fresh water to the colonisation of all habitats ashore. For the in-house amphibian protection and breeding station, in which various endangered animals are cared for and partially successfully multiplied, the aqua zoo has already received multiple awards from the UN.
