As a state-accredited private institution, the Fashion & Design Academy stands for design, fashion and media. The dynamics and innovative capacity of these sectors are reflected in the training and education provided: high quality teaching, full  student support, accredited courses, and compliance with internal quality standards are its hallmarks.

The AMD was accredited by the Senate of the Free Hansa Town of Hamburg as a private college in September 2005. With its main base in Hamburg, it operates study centres in Düsseldorf, Munich and Berlin. Providing interdisciplinary and application-oriented teaching in conformity with the European Standards of Education, its range of courses is based on the dictates of the globalised job markets, the skills and knowledge required in practice, the latest state of the art, and the concept of lifelong learning.

In addition, the private academy offers Fashion Journalism/Media Communication as a
